MGM Grand vs. Cowboy's Stadium
True boxing fans will travel to Dallas, Tx for the Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight. Las Vegas is not the place it used to be regarding boxing - it's now the land where, not Elvis, but UFC is king. You might have seen some buzz about this on ESPN. Real boxing fans are not worried about where they are going to plunk down $20 for a hand of black-jack or where they might 'make it rain' once the fight is over. Although, I assure you, Dallas has plenty of places where one could 'make it rain'... Cowboy's Stadium will put the spark back into boxing that it's been missing for years. By the way, whether you are watching in on the 60 yard HD flat screen in Cowboy's Stadium or at home on your own TV - this will be epic. Let's do the damn thing, Jerry!
I am a sports lover, always have been. Some of my first memories are in ballparks and stadiums. I love the thrill of a win and the agony of defeat. I hide or change the channel with the going gets tough (i.e. last second field goal) but I am always there for the celebration or tears. I cheer wholeheartedly for the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks. I might fall off the bandwagon every once in a while...but I never jump wagons.
Chris Henry
Why do I have to read all these stories on ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, etc. about the role-model and man Chris Henry was and had the potential to be? The guy was arrested multiple times, was kicked off an NFL team for conduct, and now was involved in a domestic violence dispute which lead to his death. Listen to the 911 tape HERE - he was trying to beat the window of the truck out. What about that would make me want to have my kids or anyone else watch him on Sunday? I am getting so tired of this happening and people taking the side of the criminal/abuser. This guy repeatedly broke the law while he could have had his life made as an NFL wide receiver. Do you know how many people would love to have that big fat salary and would never do any wrong? These guys are punks and they have spit in the face of the NFL and the fans. Personally, I think there should be a zero tolerance policy. It's ridiculous. I'm sorry he had to die, and I'm sorry that he has 3 children who have to live a life without a father...but he made selfish choices and now his family has to live with them. He is not a hero by any stretch of the imagination and it does not appear that his life was turning around for the better either.
